Today I hung up my new 2009 calendar from Saint Benedict’s. Sister Katherine sent me the calendar along with a Christmas card from Gina. Many of you Grove regulars remember Gina, as she used to frequently try to get in your cars and loved to greet the morning drop offs in the front driveway! Gina is doing very well in her retirement with the Sisters, she keeps a good eye on the convent and has been spotted several times sneaking in the chapel! As I hung the calendar today I was reminded how blessed I am, blessed with having had Gina in my life and even more blessed that she is able to spend her retirement years in such an incredible setting still being able to be the incredible watch dog and companion that she is!
The Sisters made an incredible calendar this year, although it is not a Dog calendar I highly recommend it! The calendar helps fund the Sisters charitable work, which is immense. My family and I visited Saint Benedicts last year when we flew out with Gina, I can’t even explain what an incredibly moving experience it was for me and my family.
