I wanted to send a thank you to the folks at SteamBoat Animal Clinic for organizing and hosting last Sunday’s Breeder’s Clinic.
Steamboat holds a Breeder’s Clinic twice yearly providing Dog Breeders a valuable opportunity to health screen their dogs at a much reduced cost and the convenience of all the testing on one day, in one place.
Sunday morning brought an unexpected 4 inches of freezing snow down
upon Olympia ! The clinic was scheduled to open at 8 am, I had originally planned to be there at 7:30am but with this crazy weather I figured few breeders would show up…I couldn’t of been more wrong ! I arrived at 8:30 to find the parking lot jammed pack and the line out the door !
The clinic was open and the staff where ready with hot coffee and were already passing out numbers ! The Eye clinic was already at number 110 by 9am !
It was a great turn out and well organized and staffed by the crew at Steamboat! I was so happy to see so many breeders serious about health screening their dogs !
Good Job Steamboat and I look forward to the next Breeder’s Day in October !!!

We brought our three poodles to breeders day. It was well organized, quick and efficient. I appreciate this service to breeders with multiple dogs that they do health and genetic screening.
I do have a question. We did patella exams on three of our poodles. After we got home we realized that our 6 month old would only be a preliminary exam and wanted to cancel so I called and they said they would cancel her testing and refund our money.
I have not received payment and don’t have anything saying that her testing was done and/or results. Could you please let me know if that should have been refunded and if not, how to get the results on the OFA since I’ve paid for it.
thanks

Hi Paula,
Many breeders do preliminary exams as they can tell you early if there is a problem, normally no refund would be given for this but if they said they would you should follow up with a phone call to them directly. The x-rays were sent to OFA from Steamboat, OFA should mail you something and it could take some time, try calling OFA after a couple weeks to check or keep an eye on their website http://www.offa.org – Hope that helps!
