Seadog Makes The Front Page

seadogolympianSeadog, a beautiful Chesapeake Bay retriever, a regular here at the grove, made the front cover of The Olympian Newspaper last week !

Seadog and her dad were out playing ball at an old school park site which is frequented by many dog lovers in our area, when the newspaper along with several city council members showed up !

Apparently the City officials were touring potential dog-park sites for a future off-leash dog park in Olympia.  A project which has been pushed for  by dog-park advocates Sound Hounds.

entranceAn official off-leash dog park would be a great addition to Olympia and an excellent educational opportunity.  I would love to see large educational areas like when you visit a rest area or national park.  Several large covered areas with drinking fountains, restrooms and shade cover could provide organizations an opportunity to alert the community of matters relating to dogs, educate the community about dog ownership and current events!

I know many city residents are concerned about tax dollars funding a dog park, if the city donates the land I think private funding could do the rest!

Regardless of the outcome, we loved seeing Seadog becoming the celebrity she was destined to be ;)
