BUT the matching clothing line from Punk Rock Dogg may be my one exception! Punk Rock Dogg a private owned company in Pennsylvania is having tons of fun designing and modeling their Punk designs, be sure to visit their site to see some great stuff!

The Company Dog “Murphy” tells us how and why the company started (We edited some of his language, Murphy has a potty mouth)

“Basically, we just like stuff that’s different. You’ll never find stuff on Punk Rock Dogg that some skanky starlet o’ the month is putting on her accessory pet o’ the month. There will never be any doggie “bling.” Our stuff isn’t for socialites, hipsters or “the popular kids.” Our stuff is for real, down-to-earth, non-conformist, individualist, “don’t give a ____ what anyone else thinks,” punk-loving, delightfully abnormal people and their psychotic (but lovable) pets.”

Oh that Murphy ! He is a hoot! So if your “delightfully abnormal” be sure to check out Punk Rock Dogg ! We’re adding a few of their products to our wish list!

Yesterday I finally ordered The Boomer Ball (pictured to the left) from Boomerball.com. It’s a 10 inch “Heavy Duty Challenger Ball” pictured with a Lion, so I am assuming it can withstand the daycare dogs ? At $45 bucks I hope so!!!

I also have been checking out Otto Environmental, a company which manufactures all kinds of zoo enrichment toys. While there are many products I plan to add to my wish list, I ordered the 14″ Jolly Ball for $22.91 and the 10″ Best Ball for $9.45. I went with standard shipping so they should arrive in another 10 days. I am excited to give these products a test run with the dogs !

I am still thinking about the Canine Spirit Ball, but am very hestitant. At $70 and no puncture guarantee, I am just not sure

Hopefully my new toys will arrive soon and the dogs will love them !

I was so not going to blog about this issue but I got all upset after reading a blog entry over at Dolitter. So here it goes…..

Obama killed a fly, OMG Peta is having a tissy fit…Could someone please explain to me why this organization has IRS non-profit status when they are basically a domestic terrorist group and why oh why do so many celebrities endorse them! YUCK !

And to top it off, PETA is protesting our very own Pike Place Market and especially targeting the Fish tossing. The American Veterinary Medical Association conference is coming to Seattle on July 12th and PETA rumors say PETA is gonna protest our market.

I don’t have to tell any of you locals how important fish is in our local culture, way of life or economy.

The fish throwing has gone on here for hundreds of years in different forms when people would fish off scaffolds and throw the fish back to others etc…The Pike Place Fish have been throwing for at least 40 years - The fish throwing attracts alot of people, education about the fish is incorporated into the presentations, they speak about conservation and sooo much more.

It is also a glimpse into the lives of traditional fishermen, they sing both thanks and a wee bit of story telling about how big the fish are but there is hard work and love and thanks for this fish everyday, alot of Seattle families entire livelihoods depend on fish. We know how important they are. If you sat around for any length of time and watched and listened you would hear the fishermen telling people the names of the fish, how important local fisheries are, how to buy from local fisheries, how to help preserve habitats and of course how great they are

I am attending the AVMA Seattle conference and will of course visit Pike Place while there, I would recommend the Salmon – local caught of course – If any of you decide to purchase from the mongers, if you do thanks for supporting local, sustainable fisheries and local fishermen and women…which Washington leads the way in !

hmmm..too much local pride ? anyways the point is… it is not JUST people throwing dead fish around for sport or fun – really do you think we would disrespect something that feeds us, nourishes us, substains us ? PETA is wrong, very wrong. I do hope they show up maybe I can hit one with a fish!!!

In the meantime visit Peta Kills the website dedicated to divulging the truth about Peta! And please tell a friend that Peta is bad, very bad…. Do it …Now…tell a friend !

My dog thanks you !

ps adding this blog entry to my wishlist…cause I wish PETA would implode, shrivel up and disappear…I wish …I wish…

Okay, why isn’t there an indestructible soccer ball yet ?

hmmm…it is 2009 and I still can’t find a ball that my dogs can’t kill in 10 minutes!

Tennis balls, I buy those on e-bay by the hundred and we just throw them away as soon as they show signs of wear.

Then there are soccer balls and basketballs which ALL the dogs LOVE ! I throw a soccer ball into the daycamp yard and the dogs are thrilled…for 10 minutes.

And the price of soccer balls! Holy smokes that’s $12 for 10 minutes but I must admit it is a great 10 minutes…So, I do still buy them on occasion just so I can laugh and giggle at how much fun the dogs have.

But, there has to be something better! Seriously?

So, I remembered from Zoo trips that I would see the Polar Bears and Lions with toys in their exhibits – so what were those toys and where do I get some!

I found the BoomerBall (pictured above) at BoomerBall.com – This company has several different balls available ranging in price from $200 to $15 . To the left here is a picture of their Jungle Ball which is 20 inches and has a sidewall thickness of 1/4 inch and is only $135 ! I know that sounds crazy for a ball but if it lasts ? I haven’t decided yet so I am adding it to my wishlist! But if a tiger can play with it, it should last in a doggie daycare?

I also found a company called Desert Plastics who have a large variety of balls to choose from, their smallest is 17 inches with .439 wall thickness starting at $92 bucks… They did have a link to email them for their discontinued or overstock items, so I emailed them I will let you know if we get anything !
I also found the Canine Spirit Ball at Natural Horse Talk. The Spirit Ball is 25 inches in diameter with a PVC bladder to reduce puncture but the site says not for aggressive chewers. So, I am not sure what they consider aggressive chewer ? All my daycare dogs play pretty rough with the toys….This ball is $66 plus shipping…

I found a few more I will blog about later and add to my wish list !

Feel free to send me suggestions! For now I will just go play stick with the dogs !
