Making Dog Sweaters for Shelter Dogs

Alisha Talbert and her husband recently visited a shelter and saw that most of the dogs at shelters in their area where housed outdoors. After leaving the shelter, they got the idea to stop at a Goodwill and look for sweaters, they bought twelve sweaters their first trip and Alisha cut and sewed all night transforming these used human sweaters into doggie sweaters!

That was the beginning of a new mission and project, so if you have some old sweaters, throw them in a box and mail them to:

Mimi Ausland, a 12 year old girl from Bend, Oregon, wanted to help feed the hungry animals at her local animal shelter. “There are 10’s of thousands of dogs and cats in animal shelters across the country, all needing to be fed a good meal.” Say hello to freekibble.com and freekibblekat.com!

Freekibble.com’s primary mission is to provide good, healthy food to dogs and cats to those shelters who are working so hard to see that none of them go hungry – they need our help. In addition to providing free kibble to the Humane Society of Central Oregon, we’ve added 13 new shelters to the program (from Oregon to Florida!) and plan to expand the program to many more! Thanks to everyone for supporting freekibble by playing the trivia game – every piece of kibble counts!

We’re very happy to say that we’re partnering with Castor and Pollux to feed these hungry dogs and cats a very high quality, all natural kibble – a very decent dinner!

Pictured here is Mimi sitting on her 4th delivery of 240 pounds of free kibble to an Oregon Shelter.

Way to go Mimi! Be sure to visit www.freekibble.com and help today!
